Caught about 10 crappie today, biggest one was probably 10-11", maybe a pound. I only had one rod out (trolling on lowest trolling motor setting) but guys who had spider rigs out with 6-8 rods were doing very well....I'd estimate they caught probably 30 to my 10....and when I left they were still going strong. The bite was SUPER LIGHT, really couldn't tell you had a hit until you felt some weight.

Had a nice day out on the river. I caught a bakers dozen, with most fish between 2 and 4 1/2 pounds. Fish were split between pits and main river, except one barge pit dink. Fish got active in the afternoon once the sun warmed up the water a little.

Tough day on the river today. Caught two keepers on the first two casts on a jetty then nothing for a long time. Finally caught a dink in the barge pit on a shakey worm and that was it. But, since I haven't been out in a month, it still felt great just to get out.

Water was flowing in, fairly stained around the ramp. Went way upriver looking for clearer water, still no fish. Fished laydowns and old pilings. Just nice to get out...

Great day on the river, lots of keepers. Fish were relating to rocks. Fish were crushing baits, nothing is more fun than river fishing when river fish are smashing everything. Looks like the "fall" bite is on.

The artificial lure fishing has slowed down but the bass were loving my minnows today. My sister caught countless sunfish and a couple of bass on nightcrawlers fished on the bottom.

I tried some spinnerbaits, senkos, and kreatures around laydowns with no bites at all. Near the end of the day I tried a drop shot rig, zoom pumpkin 4 inch worm about 9 inches above sinker. I got one bite I missed and then landed a small bass on it. I thought it was a sunny the way it pecked at it. Never had caught a bass on the drop shot. Something new.
Weather was so nice to be out there. No other boats, couple guys bank fishing. Some waterfowl hunter scoping things out. Hoping to get back out soon if weather cooperates.

Had to take advantage of another mid 70 degree day. There were about 20 boats on the lake so I did not fish some of the areas where I caught them on Monday.

fished out of osbourne 3 days over the past week. fishing has been prettry solid. Most fish have been caught with slower presentations, but i did find a good active bite on monday with the warm temps. More boats out than i've seen in a long time. I caught them on current breaks on spinnerbaits and trrigged worms. I caught a crankbait fish in a pit, and found fish around rocks. water is still warm.

Used the hula grub on a weedless jig head, weedless wacky rigged the finesse worm. Fished the top of creek channel edges since that is where I found the fish holding. I used a lead nail in the wacky rigged finesse worm and that was the most productive.
I tried a spoon and Silver Buddy where I saw the fish on my LCR, but they wouldn't hit either one. With the warm weather, I tried early prespawn tactics and that worked.

Golf Course pond
mostly sunny, cold and windy
Not many golfers today so I fished one of the ponds that I usually cant get around because of flying golf balls.
6 LMB, 30+ sunfish. Lost my biggest bass yet.
live red wigglers on a small #6 hook on the bottom with a slit shot. No bobber.
2-6'
Golf course traffic was light this afternoon so I grabbed an ultralight rod and a box of red wigglers and headed off to one of the ponds for some sunfish action. I was catching lots of sunfish. Surprisingly to me the bass were quite active and I caught 6 LMB in two hours. Just as my hands were getting really cold I hooked into something big. It rolled on the surface and I saw it was a really big bass. Bigger than the 7 lber that I caught in that same pond. I had little hope of landing it on the ultralight gear and tiny hook but I tried. I tried to beach the fish and got its head on a thick pad of leaves along the bank. Thats when I saw the huge mouth. The leaf pad was too thick to pull the fish through with the gear I had and the little hook popped out and away it went. Needless to say I yelled a few choice words and threw a little tantrum. Oh well, there is always tomorrow and its a pond so the fish isnt going anywhere.
