Briery Creek
sunny and calm sunday and sunny and windy on monday
clear to light stain
flats and weed edges near creek channels
42 bass on Sun with biggest 3.3 42 bass on Mon with biggest 4.5
senkos, flukes, swimbaits, plastic lizards
0 to 6 feet
weightless rigged all baits and fished slowly around channel drops and weed edges. Sunday with calm conditions the bite was very slow. found no areas of schooling fish. Monday the wind started blowing good around lunchtime and the bite picked up. All bigger fish were caught on the fluke or the swimbait
water temps were approaching 80 at the surface and the weeds have grown even since last weekend. Also the water was much clearer. Spooked a lot of fish moving through the shallows.

Briery Creek
very windy, sunny bright, few clouds. Did I say windy?
dark when calm; stained where waves were hitting. Almost couldn't move up-lake with only electric.
Put in at dam, fished cove to right of dock, dropping shore further to right. Tried to make it across to the first left-hand arm, but electric ran out and got beaten into the shore! Fished deep stickups and channels when graphed.
1 LM, 15 in.
Threw the box, caught only one black spinnerbait with chartreuse trailer (yeah, I'm most comfortable with the old stuff.) Tried wacky, etc., though, even new X-Rap.
All depths. Graphed lots of schools stacked on top of each other in 30-10 feet, but not moving or biting.
Never a nibble on plastics, jig, cranks, whatever, through the schools. Only hit was on the shore drop-off on the right, past the fishing dock, about 3 pm when clouds covered, wind died for about 10 mins. Fish was about 6 feet out from the pads, about 6 feet down.
Only three other boats out there. Didn't talk to one, but no bass at all from the other two, with guys who at least looked and talked like they knew a little bit--so I guess I don't feel too bad! Did break my transducer mount on a stick-up in the whitecaps. Real fun there. But, I'll be back to catch a good day!

Briery Creek
windy and sunny
68 to 70 and stained (for briery)
shallow shelves near channels and spawning flat edges
bass biggest was 5.14
swimbaits, flukes, and chatterbaits, buzzbaits
0 to 6 feet
long casts with the swimbait and a slow steady retrieve. fished the flukes slowly near schooling fish.
caught a 4.14 that bent my buzzbait into a pretzel. The bass were schooling and running shad up onto the flats to feed. The swimbait worked best for bigger fish. The fluke caught the most numbers. 60 total fish caught with 8 being over 4 pounds. The wind seemed to help bring the fish shallow

Briery Creek
sunny and windy on Sat and sunny with little to no wind on Sun
stained to clear 65 to 77 degrees
The fish on sat were roaming the shallow flats along the edges of the lily pads. Bigger fish were usually within casting distance of a creek channel or ditch. Sunday with no wind the fish went into the pads or into the nearby deeper water, but still hit agressivly
caught 120 bass and 2 pickerel with a 5.6 the biggest fish boated 60+ on sat and 55+ on sun
senkos and weightless various soft plastics with a 12 inch worm and the senko being the most effective`
all fish were caught in less than 3 feet of water
on sat the fish were roaming in front of the pads in packs with a lot of double hook ups with the other guy i was fishing with. caught 30+ fish tied off to one log. the most effective presentation was casting and not doing anything for sometimes minutes at a time. used 4lb test for a while and had 9 breakoffs (but boated a 4.4) until i got to frustrated to keep using it on sun the fish moved into the pads or to the nearest deep water but still bit well. occasionally would catch them roaming the edge of the pads but were real skittish. the guy i was fishing with caught the big one at the edge of the pads near dusk
fish seem to be mostly done spawning in the upper end of the lake. A lot of beds with no fish on them. Some of the fish caught were still prespawn though. Another great day on a great fishery
